Roaster’s Thoughts
I love every bean I have in my offerings and mix it up quite a bit, but I got stuck on this top-lot bean and have had to cut myself off from it every once in a while just so I can put an exclamation mark on my reaction to the pure pleasure I take in its complexity of flavors whenever I come back to it.
Bean Region > Nebilyer Valley, Western Highlands
This is a washed peaberry coffee from the Korgua Estate. The estate, which is located on the Kuta Ridge of the Waghi Valley of Papua New Guinea, is owned by second-generation coffee producer Brian Leahy. Leahy's father first explored this area in the 1930's, and established Korgua as one of the very first coffee farms in the area. Korgua Estate was created on neutral ground to allow coffee growers from rival tribes to bring their coffees to market without causing disruption.
